Lena Goretsky Winters

I am a trial lawyer with over fifteen years of experience handling matrimonial law cases. After graduating from Northwestern Law School, I practiced family law at some of Chicago’s premier family law and litigation firms. 

In 2012, I formed Winters Family Law Firm. I've been told that my firm has since developed a reputation for delivering outstanding results, as evidenced by testimonials from satisfied clients. In 2021, I was joined by my husband, trial lawyer David Winters; together our mission is to serve our clients with compassion and understanding while delivering optimal results.

I have extensive experience in all types of domestic relations issues, including but not limited to contested and uncontested divorce, declaration of invalidity of marriage or civil union, legal separation, child support and maintenance, allocation of parental responsibilities, and determination of parentage. I have considerable experience representing high-net-worth clients. 

Where appropriate I help clients reach a negotiated resolution. That said, I offer clients maximum leverage as a lawyer willing and able to take cases to trial.

I speak and publish regularly on family law-related topics. I am an Adjunct Professor at Northwestern University School of Law teaching trial advocacy skills. I try to give back to my community. I am a member of the Deerfield Family Theater Board of Directors.  I volunteer at Willow Creek Community Church Legal Clinic in Barrington, and I regularly provide pro bono assistance to economically disadvantaged clients. 

I speak fluent Russian.
